There is an article in The Drive showing photos of donated UK Sea King Helicopters to Ukraine, tweeted by the Ukraine Ministry of Defence (Mod).
The UK donated 3 Sea King Helicopters to Ukraine to help in their fight against Putin’s Russian invasion. As we can see they are being put to good use after their crews were trained on this type of helicopter by the UK, along with their respective ground crews.
I just wanted to point this out. As Germany refuses to step in to help Ukraine with desperately needed Main battle tanks like the Leopard 2, the UK is doing the most in Europe to defend Europe (and an extremely hostile EU). We have donated hundreds of vehicles (including modern Challenger 2 heavy tanks) missiles, drone, ships, money and so on. We have also been there training Ukrainian soldiers since 2014 with the US.
It is infuriating that we are doing all this to protect an EU, which has dedicated itself to hurting us via breaking away Northern Ireland, making trade as difficult as possible, withholding vaccines during a pandemic, keeping us out of EU programmes like Horizon and Galileo and setting out to destroy the City of London and our finance industry. All because they fear a successful UK will lead to the break up of the EU and because they are furious we voted to leave.
And while we do this Germany refuses to send proper help or allow other countries with German Leopard tanks, like Poland, to send theirs. Why? It is obviously because Germany does not want to hurt Russia too badly. It wants the Ukraine war to end quickly and for it to go back to business as usual buying their cheap oil and gas and selling them cars. And let us not forget it is German money that is paying for Putin’s military and its past modernisation.
We must push Germany to do the right thing and after the war is over to make sure that it does not go back to business as usual.
The UK needs to make sure that the EU understands that it has to stop with its vendetta against the UK. We all need to move on together and work as a united team again to face shared problems together. Otherwise the UK will not be there for when another war hits Europe. Poland, Eastern Europe and the Baltics will have to rely on Germany and France for protection and we have seen exactly what those 2 countries care most about, their exports.
The UK government needs to make this clear. And it needs to boost our defence budget to 3% gdp to ensure we have the ability to defend ourselves and our allies properly.
We have taken a lead in the Ukraine War whereas the EU has dithered and refused to do what is needed to help Ukraine win this war. We need to make a hostile EU and its members understand that we will not step in again unless they stop harassing us and move on from Brexit. I think it’s members are starting to understand how weak the EU really is with Germany and France defending it, so hopefully they will apply the right pressure to make it stop its hostility towards the UK. Let’s see if that is true in time.
