Have you noticed something very strange lately? Perhaps it’s just me. All of a sudden Brexit seems to be everywhere in the British media, from the BBC, all the way to the Guardian, Independent and Financial Times (FT). However, are these institutions getting behind the UK, and uniting the people? Are they confident in the country and its people? Do they respect the biggest democratic vote in British history and accept that remain lost? Of course not.
Everywhere I turn there is article after article blaming all the problems Europe and the world face, from high inflation, high energy costs and slow economic growth, on Brexit. There is no mention of the insane lockdowns, or printing of £500 billion of cash to pay for it, or Putin’s mad war in Ukraine. It is all Brexit, Brexit, Brexit!
These remain backing organisations have never accepted Brexit, and never will. They can sense blood in the water as our economy weakens (along with the rest of the world I might add, especially Europe), and know they can convince ordinary people that it is all Brexit’s fault. This in time will lead to people accepting the UK being taken back into the EU or Single Market, reversing the referendum result and killing democracy in this country stone cold dead.
Now I should probably explain my history with the referendum in 2016. And it may surprise you to know that I was a massive supporter of the EU at one time, and voted remain. I believed we were stronger together as one unit, I felt connected to other European countries and people and loved the fact I could get up, fly to another EU country and live and work there at the drop of a hat. Also I truly believed the expert predictions of doom and carnage from the Treasury and government if we voted to leave. And I was truly gutted when Remain lost. But I accepted the result because I believe in democracy, and it only works when the loser accepts defeat and gets behind the winning idea or party. And I will always back my country.
However knew prior to the vote that Brexit could be a huge success for the UK if we played it right. We would need to become the most competitive country in Europe, with the best regulations and rules, lowest taxes and most businesses friendly environment. It was easy to see what a mess the EU had become with the Euro crisis, bankrupt Southern European countries, mass youth unemployment, the Greek Crisis, Italian debt monster and the rise of the Far Right in countries like France and beyond. And it was clear to see that the EU could not survive without the huge contribution of the UK and its economy, and as the EU’s 2nd largest export market for goods, not far behind the US and ahead of China. This is why the media and remain supporters are so desperate for the UK to rejoin the EU. They know that the EU will fail without the UK. It is obvious to anyone with a brain.
So expect this to carry on. These organisations will never stop until the UK is back under the control of the EU. They will lie, cheat and steal to make it happen because they know the EU is finished without the UK inside, and they are determined to ensure it survives, regardless of what it does to us as a country or a people. Websites and organisations like Boom Britain just need to keep telling people the truth that Brexit is not the cause of these problems. They are global and happening everywhere.
